SBEES Project Partners Meeting
19.03.2026
On 2–4 March 2026, a working meeting of the partners of the project “Microfinancing social businesses in agriculture for sustainability in rural communities – SBEES” was held at the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. The project is funded under the Erasmus+ programme (KA210-VET Small-scale Partnerships).
The main objective of the meeting was to implement the next project activity focused on the preparation and delivery of the Train the Trainers programme. The trained teachers will, in the coming months, deliver educational courses to the project’s target groups. These courses will focus on the development of social entrepreneurship in rural areas, with an emphasis on beekeeping, innovation, and sustainability.
The programme also included selected expert lectures delivered by Dr. Georgios Afxentiou from Cyprus University of Technology. The lectures focused primarily on practical aspects of social entrepreneurship, microfinancing opportunities, and supporting innovation in agriculture.
In addition to the expert sessions, the partners held discussions on the further direction of the project, upcoming activities, and possibilities for strengthening cooperation. An important part of the meeting was also the recording of podcasts, which will serve not only as a dissemination tool for the project but also as a means of raising awareness of social entrepreneurship, innovation, and beekeeping in rural communities.
Through these activities, the project continues to achieve its objectives of supporting vocational education, developing entrepreneurial skills, and strengthening the sustainable development of rural regions.
