6. REGISTRATION WITH PUBLIC AUTHORITIES IN NITRA

a) In case you are staying at the SUA dormitory, reporting your residence at the foreigners police is not necessary, since the dormitory will do it for you automatically.
b) In case of accommodation outside the university dormitories, EU citizens must report within 10 days after arrival to SR, non-EU citizens must report within 3 days after arrival to Slovakia at the local Foreigners Police Office (Oddeleie cudzineckej polície), Kalvárska 2.

Office hours:
Monday:      7:30 – 12:00 ... 13:00 – 15:00
Wednesday  7:30 – 12:00 ... 13:00 – 16:30
Friday          7:30 – 12:00

For stays exceeding 90 days, non-EU citizens must apply for Temporary Residence Permit.

7. RECOMMENDATION FOR NON-EU STUDENTS: In order to avoid lengthy and costly procedures at the foreigners police, we recommend to our NON-EU students who have temporary residence in Ghent or other EU partner countries to reduce their stay to the maximum of 90 days (including arrival and departure), because otherwise it is necessary to ask for temporary residence permit at the foreigners police. If you decide to stay longer, we will of course assist you. However, it is necessary to inform us about this as soon as possible, because some of the required documents might be very complicated to obtain (e.g. document proving a clear criminal record- note that you might and probably will be asked for this document from both your home country and the EU country that you currently reside in). You can find more information here: https://www.mic.iom.sk/en/residence/temporary-residence.html and here https://www.mzv.sk/web/en/consular_info/residence_of_foreigners_in_territory_of_slovakia .
