International Scientific Conference “Protection of Agricultural Land in the V4 Countries”
20.10.2025
From 15 to 17 October 2025, under the auspices of the Institute of Law, an international scientific conference entitled Protection of Agricultural Land in the V4 Countries was held.
The conference took place within the framework of the International Visegrad Fund project (Project No. 22420155 – V4 Agricultural Land Protection), coordinated by Prof. Lucia Palšová, JUDr., PhD. Project partners include Mendel University in Brno, Poznań University of Life Sciences, and Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
In addition to representatives of the partner universities, the conference was attended by other researchers, lecturers, students, and legal experts from the V4 countries — both in person and online.
A valuable contribution to the conference was the opening presentation by Mgr. Martin Illáš from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic, who informed participants about the latest developments in soil legislation. This was followed by presentations from representatives of the partner countries, focusing on various aspects of soil protection from a legislative perspective. As a result, participants had the opportunity to compare legal frameworks, best practices, and challenges in the individual V4 states.
The professional programme of the conference was complemented by a tour of selected laboratories at the AgroBioTech Research Centre, primarily focused on soil research. Participants had the opportunity to discuss with researchers and gain insights into the topic from both scientific and practical perspectives.
Conference participants rated the overall level of the event as very high, highlighting in particular the opportunity it provided for discussion, exchange of experience, and acquisition of new knowledge among experts from the Visegrad Group countries.
